The New Burlington Cryptozoology Society is dedicated to the study and documentation of the Marsh Man phenomenon that has been reported in and around Waynesville, Ohio for at least 50 years. If you believe the tales, he may have been here before Columbus landed in the New World.

This site will help share what we know about the creature nicknamed ‘Creeky’ by the locals, as well as give others a serious platform to share their own experiences with what may be a undiscovered species that has been right under our noses.

Skeptical? That’s understandable since the odds of a new species being discovered in such a developed area appears very slim.

However, history and biology has shown that evolutionary longshots like this can occur. Take, for an example, the Ceolacanth, which is a fish thought to be extinct since the dinosaurs. However, in 1938, my uncle Dutch claimed to have found one in his kitchen late at night trying to steal beer out of his refrigerator.

When he tried to report it the next day, he was dismayed to find that there was a story in that morning’s newspaper that someone else had caught a Ceolacanth in waters off the coast of South Africa. His discovery was considered ‘old news.’ But amazing all the same, eh?
